Insert sad face emoji. Insert my actual sad face. Saying goodbye to a player like Mana is difficult as it is, let alone when they were out on loan to your bitter rivals. It’s kind of a mind f*ck isn’t it? I will remember her fondly and I truly wish/hoped she would’ve gotten more minutes but it is what it is. Things “being what they are” doesn’t mean we need to like them. Obviously she “left” last year but I never felt we actually replaced her. I also don’t feel we properly replaced Jordan either.
We also are letting Fran Stenson go and I don’t really have anything to say about that because I don’t know anything at all about her to be brutally honest. I think she might’ve played less than 3 times? maybe only 2 times?? However, I do wish I would’ve seen more of her, but again, things are what they are.
Speaking of things being what they are, I’ve been very busy with some music stuff and I won’t be able to post a podcast this week.
Now, whenever someones leaves I think it’s natural to wonder who will come in their place or just sign in general, but I am very curious if there will be some sort of exodus this summer. I hope not and I hope so in a way too. One thing is for sure: I have no idea how any of this works but I trust (hope) that the club knows what they are doing. We need to win. Kroenke’s need to win.
For those that don’t really follow the men’s team or have little recollection of Arsene Wenger, he used to have this saying about getting injured players back and how they will be “like a new signing” which was a little bit of gaslighting and I don’t love that way of thinking because of the trauma BUT I do think that in AWFC’s case this could be a thing.
And a really good thing at that.
