A very subjective look into AWFC

That’s how many days there are left before the World Cup starts. I am normally more excited about the Euros (women & men) than I am of the World Cup to be perfectly honest with you. Historically I’ve enjoyed CL and normal league calendars much more but of course there’s something special about the most important competition and in the past I’ve liked other competitions more because I am more familiar with the players. I probably should be more excited about learning about squads like I said in my previous post but I guess that’s just where my head is at. I also think that because I haven’t really loved the Dutch men’s squad lately, I don’t look forward to those tournaments because I don’t have faith in them, unlike with the women’s squad, whom I actually believe can win the whole thing.

I’m super excited to see Lia, Steph and Katie, among others, and at the same time I’m extremely sad that we won’t see Beth, Leah and of course Viv. This, my friends, bums me out whenever I think of it and as you can imagine, I’m thinking about it a lot with the tournament around the corner. As ever, I’d like to point out that as much as it’s hard for me, just imagine how truly difficult it is for them. It just has to be absolutely brutal. I know I’ve said this before or something like it and I appreciate you putting up with my redundancy, so please know I’m thankful.

With those 3 players missing and trying my best to not pick DVD, Jill and Dom, I will be doing some sort of preview/players to look out for on my YouTube channel so look out for that if you don’t have much going on.
