There are so many arsenal players in the last 4 teams remaining that it’s hard to keep count. This is such a great thing for us and to be honest it’s a great thing that is happening for many clubs like Barcelona and that horrible team also from London. It’s amazing to see so many familiar faces in the last 4, at least for me who just started watching the sport 4 years ago.

If I were to put my AWFC fan hat on you’d know that as far as Spain vs Sweden is concerned I am 100000% rooting for the swedes. Not only because they have 3 Arsenal players but because Spain beat The Netherlands so I absolutely hope they lose. This concept of wanting the team that beat yours to go on and win so you can say you were beaten by the eventual champions is non sense. I want Spain out. Yes, I’m that petty.

Do I think Spain are going to lose? No, but someone I also don’t think that Sweden will. It’s not that I think Sweden is better than the dutch, but I think the way they set up and their size is an advantage. They have a tall midfield and defense… and everyone really is tall as hell and I think this can be a good thing for them especially at set pieces and this is where I particularly think that they will succeed, since Amanda Goalistedt *insert trademark emoji has been on fire and Stina is due for a goal.

What the dutch didn’t have, since DVD was out, was that creative forward thinking midfielder to scare the Spanish and Asllani is that for me. What a player… I think she is going to have a stellar match, her attitude is incredible and she is a real winner. I know she’s at Milan at the moment but I wouldn’t be surprised if she makes the switch to the WSL soon, and the sooner the better and if it’s to Arsenal I would love that. Not that I think we need her but so that no other teams have her. Again, petty.

So I’m gonna go with my heart and not my brain and I’m going to say that Sweden win 2-1.

Now to the big one… Caitlin and Steph vs Russo and co. If there has ever been a match that I would think would be even as hell and in which I couldn’t pick a winner it’s this one. But something tells me that the Matildas can pull it off only because they’re at home and they have that magic. Not saying they will though. My point is that I could see it happening. England have been on the other side of that, playing at home as a host nation during the Euros. They know what that crowd can do, so it’ll be super interesting.

Footballing wise I would say that England have a better midfield than Australia. Foord vs Bronze is a tasty matchup. Not sure if Kerr will start but I think she’s the only one that can do something down the middle against Millie and Alex, because she’s used to playing with both of them, in different capacities. Russo should be a very tough player to play against for Alana Kennedy because of her speed and I think down the middle is where England will be more dangerous. But I have no idea… this is just something I feel. Also it feels like we haven’t seen many screamers from outside the box so as fate would have it I wouldn’t be surprised if we see one.

Not sure how many goals we will actually see but I’m just gonna throw out there that England win 3-1
