A very subjective look into AWFC

Ah… the oranjeleeuwinnen are back in action tomorrow and as per usual, this blog will focus on that squad here and there for the next few days, so if this is your first time hearing that I’m obsessed with the dutch, please have a nice comfy seat and get used to it.

I am of the belief that to be the best you have to beat the best. I know that I sound absolutely insane to most but I don’t think Spain were particularly better than The Netherlands in the World Cup. They won via a last minute goal. Mistakes were made on our end, literally and figuratively, etc.

So now we get another chance to show what we got and even though it’s not a WC Final, the stakes are always high because these are professional, trail blazing women who live for these kinds of moments.

No idea what Jonker will do, but without Roord in the squad I’m afraid it won’t be the lineup I’m hoping for, which I will write about tomorrow. But the one thing I will say is that I can see a universe in which Viv plays as a number 9.

That universe is my mind.

Also, in that universe, the only midfield that we should field has to include DVD, Damaris and Jackie.
