I cannot believe the disrespect that I have seen towards Katie. And no, thankfully I’m not talking about only abuse at the moment, but what I am talking about is how I have not seen a single lineup prediction with her in it.
The first thing I will say is that this is mostly a judgment on my end as it relates to blogs I have seen and searched for as I am no longer on twitter which by the way, it has been such an incredible decision and I honestly recommend everyone to just move on from that hell space.
But back to ignoring Katie. Like, what? How do you not have her on your team? even if it seems forced and she’s out of position, there has to be room for her and as a matter of fact, if she’s fully fit, as far as I’m concerned it has to be her + 10.
She’s better, more efficient, tenacious and more experienced than KCC, Manuum, etc and there’s absolutely no doubt in my mind that she could absolutely kill it alongside Kim. I would bet my house and all my musical instruments that she is the right choice for that.
Tactically and all that, if we just on paper focus on a 4-3-3 formation, the potential of Lia with Kim and Katie at either side would be unreal, with Caldentey and Beth on each wing and our 9 can be anyone basically.
If there is one thing I would do if a genie came into my possession and granted one footballing wish it would be that.
I get that people have reservations but if you have ever seen her play in person with Ireland, you see her freedom, her work rate and her vision and it is second to none. Beyond this, if she is left on the bench we’re gonna lose her and she’s gonna go to Lyon id season and win the Champions League.
